These transitions add a new dynamic to your relationship. Couples therapy can help you navigate every stage of your parenting journey, including:

We also provide support to help you with:

It’s natural to expect a sense of connection with your partner, especially during significant life changes like pregnancy and parenthood. When that connection feels elusive, it can lead to feelings of isolation and unease.

Open and effective communication is the foundation of a strong relationship. When it becomes challenging to express your feelings, needs, and desires to your partner, it can lead to misunderstandings and emotional distance.

Feeling emotionally distant from your partner during a time that should be emotionally charged can be disheartening. It might leave you wondering why you’re not experiencing the closeness you had hoped for.

Parenting requires teamwork, but when you and your partner are not on the same page regarding parenting decisions, it can lead to conflicts and confusion about your roles as parents.

Sharing responsibilities in the household should be a team effort, but when it’s disproportionate, it can lead to resentment and strain in the relationship.

Achieving a balance between work and personal life can be tough, especially when trying to accommodate both your partner’s and your own needs, leading to stress and dissatisfaction.

Physical and sexual intimacy is an important part of your relationship, but when it becomes difficult to connect in this way, it can create emotional and relational tension, affecting overall closeness.

We can provide the support you need to reconnect as a couple.

Frequently Asked Questions

A man and woman smiling together

Yes. At BLOOM, we see your relationship as our “client” and we can’t do couples therapy work if we’re only getting one side of the story. As part of the assessment phase, we do see each of you separately for one session and after that, all sessions are done together.

Sometimes yes. In some instances, meeting with an individual therapist to work on your own emotional and mental blocks, childhood and/or relationship trauma, attachment issues, coping strategies for stress, etc. can be very helpful in creating a space for your own therapeutic process during the couples therapy process.

Making positive and lasting changes in a relationship that is going through a challenging time or has operated in an unhealthy way takes hard work. Anyone that tells you otherwise isn’t telling the whole truth.

Typically, couples begin to start seeing improvement in their relationship after 3-6 months of intentional work on their relationship as they continue to prioritize their relationship needs. This of course all depends on how motivated each person in the relationship is to do their own individual work and how much they prioritize their time and energy around making tangible steps to improve their connection with their partner.

At BLOOM, we provide couples therapy for all couple types- dating, engaged, married, life partners- that are highly committed to each other and interested in doing the deep intentional work to reconnect and thrive in their relationship.
