Spring Has Sprung at Bloom!
Spring is here, bringing a fresh start and new energy! In this newsletter, we’re excited to share what’s happening at BLOOM, including an update on our Mom Mood Boost group (there are still a few spots left if you want to join!).
We’ve been busy out in the community, leading discussions on important maternal wellness topics with Parent Participation. We also had the pleasure of sponsoring Mom Walk Co. anniversary party, where we connected with local moms over coffee and shared more about the services we offer. We love creating spaces for support, connection, and conversation! Plus, we’re looking forward to an upcoming Meet & Greet with Bravo Pediatrics, as we continue building connections to better support moms and families on the Central Coast.
And because we know how much life changes after bringing a baby home, we’re sharing some helpful tips on staying connected with your partner during those early newborn days. Whether you’re a new parent or years into the journey, keeping your relationship strong is so important.
We’re grateful to be on this journey with you and can’t wait for all that’s ahead!
With encouragement,
The BLOOM Team
Did you know? BLOOM Turns Two!
April will mark our second birthday, and we couldn’t be more grateful! For two years, we’ve had the honor of walking alongside moms and supporting families in our community.
To celebrate, we’re waiving the intake fee if you mention this newsletter or that you’re following along on social media!
Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re so excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to support moms and families on the Central Coast!
We love being out in the community, connecting with families and sharing valuable insights on maternal mental health. Last month, Megan spoke with Parent Participation in San Luis Obispo and Babies and Bellies at French Hospital about ways to support preschoolers through transitions, offering practical tools for parents navigating these changes, as well as the signs & symptoms of baby blues, prenatal & postpartum depression and anxiety and shared treatment options.

Join Us for Mom Mood Boost
A Supportive Space for Moms
We’re thrilled to share that Mom Mood Boost kicked off in March at Greenhouse Coffee Company in Arroyo Grande! This group is designed for moms navigating the postpartum journey, whether you’re in the early months of newborn life or adjusting to parenting a toddler. If you’ve been looking for a space to connect, share, and find encouragement, this is for you!
We meet Thursdays from 10:00-11:30 AM in the private back room of Greenhouse Coffee Company, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment with plenty of privacy. Each session focuses on a key postpartum topic, from emotional well-being and self-care to adjusting relationships and managing the ups and downs of motherhood. There’s also time to share openly about your current season of life and receive support from other moms who truly understand.
There are still a few spots left, and we’d love for you to join us! Sessions are $25 each, and every participant will receives postpartum resource that can serve as a guide to support you beyond the group. Babies up to 2 years old are welcome, so bring your little one along.
Come grab a coffee, connect with other moms, and be part of a supportive community that reminds you—you’re not alone in this journey. Sign up today to reserve your spot!
Staying Connected After
Bringing Baby Home
Bringing a baby home is an incredible experience, but it can also be overwhelming. Between sleepless nights, diaper changes, and time being split in many different ways it’s easy for couples to feel disconnected.
With a little intention and effort, you and your partner can stay connected, support each other, and keep your relationship strong while navigating this big life change together. Here are five simple but powerful tips from the Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home training to help you along the way!
1. Make Time for Each Other
Even with a newborn, small moments of connection matter. A quick hug, a shared cup of coffee, or a few minutes to check in with each other can help keep your bond strong.
2. Show Appreciation Often
Parenting is tough, and it’s easy to feel unappreciated. Take a moment to thank your partner for the little things—whether it’s changing a diaper or making you a snack. A little gratitude goes a long way!
3. Communicate With Kindness
Exhaustion can lead to frustration, but try to approach conversations with patience. Instead of blaming, use “I” statements, such as, “I’m feeling really overwhelmed—can we talk about how to divide things up?”
4. Keep the Friendship Alive
Before baby, you were partners and friends so don’t forget that! Laugh together, reminisce, and find small ways to have fun, even if it’s just watching a show or sending memes.
5. Support Each Other As a Team
You’re in this together! Talk about expectations, divide responsibilities in ways that feel right for you both, and remind each other that you’re both doing your best.
What’s BLOOM Up to
in the Community?
At BLOOM Maternal Therapy, we love being out in the community, connecting with families, and collaborating with other local organizations to support moms across the Central Coast.
This Month: We’re excited to host a Meet & Greet with Bravo Pediatrics in San Luis Obispo. Partnering with local doctors and community groups allows us to reach more families who can benefit from our specialized care. We look forward to building connections and sharing more about our services.
Last Month: We had a wonderful time attending and sponsoring The Mom Walk Co. Pismo Beach event. It was a great opportunity to meet local moms, talk about our services, and connect with families in a supportive environment.
We’re always looking for new ways to engage with our community and look forward to more opportunities to connect in the future.
